We are one of three companies that are on-call contractors for the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.

Phase I and II Environmental Property Assessments

For real estate transactions regarding commercial and industrial properties in accordance with ASTM E 1527-05 and E-1903-97.

Subsurface Environmental Investigations

Subsurface Environmental Investigations – to determine environmental quality of soil and groundwater. Subsurface environmental investigations often involve properties that have underground or above ground storage tanks, or other sources which can cause adverse environmental conditions. Our services include the installation of groundwater monitor well networks and the remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater.

Underground Storage Tank Closures

By in-place closure methods or by excavation and removal. The Southern Co. is a licensed underground storage tank contractor in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Assessments and Corrective Action Plans

As required by the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality Regulated Storage Tank Division. The reports prepared for the agency are Initial Site Characterizations (I.S.C.), Site Assessment Reports (S.A.R.), and Corrective Action Plans (C.A.P.).

We also prepare and file applications for reimbursement from the Arkansas Petroleum Storage Tank Trust Fund.

Other Environmental Services Include the following:

Tank Tightness Testing and Line Leak Detection Testing For underground fuel storage tank and dispensing systems.
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (S.P.C.C. Plans) For above ground and underground storage tank facilities.
